Welcome

Dear friend,

It was my great privilege to run for the Indiana House of Representatives (HD 7) in 2008.  During that campaign I got to know my community and its residents in a better way, and though I was not successful in obtaining elected office, I intend to serve my community in whatever way I can.

Serving our community some day as an elected official would be a great honor, but until then or even if that never happens, I hope to serve in other ways.

I am currently working as a consultant for an issue advocacy organization and preparing to further my education.  It is my pleasure to serve on the board of a new charter school in the South Bend area because I am convinced that education reform and greater school choice for parents is a pressing need.  I also plan to be involved with my local church since faith is an important element to a healthy country and community and because the gospel is the most liberating message in the world.

We need leadership in our state and county which will make our community a place in which employers want to create jobs, and I plan to watch our elected officials carefully and use my voice to advocate policies which will really work for Hoosiers.

I hope you find this website a helpful resource.  Please contact me by email at info@danherbster.com if you have any feedback.

Sincerely,

Dan Herbster

post-Election Day Message

Dear friends and fellow citizens,

Unfortunately, my campaign for the Indiana House of Representatives was not successful in bringing new leadership to our district.  However, I believe this was a valuable effort, and I am grateful for all the support and encouragement I received from so many kind and dedicated people.

I congratulate my opponent, and I urge all my supporters and every one of the over 10,000 who voted for me to pray for State Rep. David L. Niezgodski, that he would serve our district with wisdom and integrity.  The Scriptures command us to pray for those in authority that we might lead quiet and peaceful lives, and I pledge to regularly pray for Mr. Niezgodski.

I am still hopeful that our district will one day have responsive, conservative leadership which will uphold the values we cherish and seek the good of all our citizens.

I hope you’ll keep me in your prayers as I seek to determine how I can best serve my God, my country, and my community.

Thanks again for your help. I hope we will again have the opportunity to fight together for the causes we love.

Sincerely,

Dan Herbster

pre-Election Day Message

Hello,

My name is Dan Herbster, and I’m running for the Indiana House of Representatives for House District 7.

I was raised and spent most of my life on the south side of South Bend, and I am very excited about the opportunity to serve my fellow Hoosiers in our state’s capitol.

The reason I have entered this race is because I have a burden to serve my community, and because I firmly believe that the time has come for new leadership.

I intend to listen to your concerns and carefully consider each issue that affects our district.  I also intend to help spur economic growth and the creation of new, high-paying jobs by supporting a pro-growth agenda.

Together we can change things for the better, and I hope you will give me your enthusiastic support.

Sincerely,

Dan Herbster
