"Council Amends [Parks Dept.] Firearms Code" to Comply with State Gun Rights Law

By a vote of 8-0, the St. Joseph County Council amended the county code Tuesday to allow licensed gun owners to bring firearms into county parks.

The amendment brings the parks department into compliance with Senate Enrolled Act 292, which limits the ability of local governments to regulate firearms.
