Dan Herbster Announces Re-election Bid, Files for Primary

Here's the press release I issued today announcing that I've officially filed for re-election:

South Bend – Today County Councilman Dan Herbster (R-Dist. F) announced his intention to run for re-election to the County Council, placing his name on the primary ballot.  Herbster has represented District F since January of 2010 when he took over for a retiring Dennis Schafer.  District F covers most of the rural parts of St. Joseph County and stretches from New Carlisle to Wyatt and from Walkerton to Centre Township.

Herbster issued the following statement:

It has been my great joy and privilege to serve on the St. Joseph County Council.  I’ve enjoyed listening to the concerns of my constituents and doing everything in my power to address those concerns.

My biggest priority is to help make St. Joseph County an inviting place for businesses which provide jobs and economic opportunity.

I plan to run a vigorous campaign.  I’ve already begun to raise funds, and I intend to meet as many voters as possible in the days ahead.  Serving on the Council is an honor, and I hope my constituents will allow me the privilege of serving them for four more years.
