State Budget Passes, is Signed

Ed Ronco at the South Bend Tribune reports.  Excerpts:

Indiana lawmakers averted a state government shutdown Tuesday, passing a budget just hours before the previous budget ran out, and the governor quickly signed it into law.

 . . .

Rep. Jackie Walorski, R-Jimtown, . . . said the budget as passed is responsible to taxpayers and will help avoid the need to raise taxes in the future.

“We can't just print money,” she said. “We have to live with what we have.”
